Avis via BA - does it include theft protection?

Just researching costs for our next holiday.

I was looking at booking car hire via British Airways and I believe they use Avis.

It states that CDW is included in the price.

Does anyone know if CDW includes theft protection? Theft protection isn't mentioned anywhere else so I assume it does, or if not there would be an option to add it on (which there isn't!).

Any advice appreciated (perhaps I am just being stupid!)

It says this in the T & C's. However as we know there is no excess so it's generic more than US specific.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and (TP) Theft Protection:

Please note that CDW may not be included for all car types, please check Inclusions before bookings.

CDW and TP are always subject to an excess which will be pre-authorised, but not debited, from the driver's credit card up on collection of the vehicle. In the event of any damage to the vehicle, the full value of the excess is charged to the credit card. Where the repair costs are less than the excess, the difference will be refunded. Excess amounts vary by rental location, please contact us for details.

Yes I did notice those T&Cs.

It says CDW may not always be included (and it is included so that's ok). I thought perhaps because it said CDW may not always be included, it implies that TP always is?

Is that how others read it?

They don't make it very clear do they . These generic T&C's are also made worse by some countries having excesses on CDW. In the US the excess is $0 so not a problem but in some countries you think you are covered but you have a big excess making it useless unless you pay to remove the excess at the counter when picking up the car. Really annoying when you think you have paid for everything.
BA keep this very quite when you order the car and you have to check the internet to find out the excess for each country.

Personal belonging are not covered they are extra as with most companies but normally you would use your normal holiday insurance for this.
