Mobile What’s the secret?

We have booked a villa in championsgate for 2wks in May. At the time of booking we were shown pictures of the EXACT villa we’ll be in. Why do we need to wait until 48 hrs before the holiday to find out the address. We could be planning our routes, restaurants and area well in advance. The thing is, when we were sent the photos the number is clear on the door, so google gives an address but the travel agent won’t confirm it until we get word 48 hrs from our arrival date.
Why the secrecy?

This always did our heads in as like yourselves we'd like to plan routes etc. As long as you know your resort then you can plan to get to the main entrance where you normally need to sign in.

I always turn into a detective and from the pictures work out where it was most of the time

Have you booked through an agent or the owner?

Maybe because you could try and get in touch with the owner directly and negotiate a lower price as you'll still be within a cancellation period of your booking? Just a guess though.

I know this isn't going to be what you want to hear, but I think the reluctance to reveal the address is that by booking through a travel agent, the agent cannot be absolutely sure that specific villa will even be available when you are due to go.

As all villas are privately owned, the owner always has the right to change MC's or even sell up, both of which would mean this actual villa would be unavailable. In this case, the travel agent would source an alternative for you but ultimately, the only way to provide a 100% guarantee you have a specific villa is to book direct with the owner.

I agree with Tetrarch - (I'm only posting so you don't think it's because they're owners and they're biased). I admin on a large fb group and we regularly have members who've booked a villa package through TAs and who've been moved or haven't got the villa that they hoped.
Obviously most people's bookings are ok but the TA will be covering their own backs.

it can also be for security reasons, if say you access the villa via a keycode they don't want people turning up early.

You will find key codes are unique to each set of guests and are set to be active only between your date of arrival at 4pm (unless an early entry has been granted) and your departure day at 10am (again unless a late check out has been agreed) that is the beauty of key codes.
