Day 1 – Travel Day

Extremely exciting!

We could barely contain ourselves…G&T were also quite excited too.

I spent the entire morning rushing around the house checking it was all clean enough (is it just me? who does this?). G&T helped by eating the entire contents of the fridge.

Anyway as we were flying hand luggage only here is a pic of the how little we managed to pack;

Finally we were off! Grandad gave us a lift to the airport.

Soon enough we arrived at Airwick Gatport.

So we stopped for lunch at Wagamamas which is always good.

We did some quick shopping in the airport and then headed to the gate.

MOVIE NIGHT

Now the boys were starting to get excited and were desperate to get on the plane. I tried explaining to them it was best to be at the back of the queue, you would be on the plane for so long you didn’t want to be first on. This was met with replies of;

“yes, but shall we just get in the queue?”

Air Norwegian was fine, however, about every 20mins one of the boys would say;

“Are we nearly there yet?”

For this reason my quick airport shop should have amounted to more than just a boots meal deal. So I gave up and bought this for $25.

Anyways … we watched loads of movies there isn’t much choice but I we still managed to see some stuff we hadn’t seen before.

It never fails to amaze me how kids can sleep anywhere.

Following the disco display on our Dreamliner landing we hit American immigration in Orlando I think it took about 20 mins! And we were off to search for the magical express.

Yes that does say Disney Cruise Lines, but it is the Magical Express. No we don’t know why it says Disney Cruise Lines either.

Anyway Thomas fell asleep on the Magical Express and here is a picture of him waking up as his bags are being off loaded at POFQ (he is not a morning person).

So we were finally there we checked in and were offered $200 disney dollars for cancelling our mousekeeping. But we could call guest services if we needed anything like towels, bins taking out, or clean sheets. Now I decided that for $200 I would happily change the bed sheets myself so took them up on this very kind offer (this is now bud light dollars).

We found our room which was the furthest from everything and came with a charming view of the car park. After the journey we were still delighted to see it and I was just as pleased to see the Garden Grocer delivery arrive with a cold beer.

G&T fell asleep & I unpacked. I had spent about 12 months planning for this trip so whilst I had packed all sorts of unobvious stuff which is needed (like freezer bags for keeping mobiles safe on water rides) I spent this time looking the obvious stuff which is needed (like the actual phone and its charger)...

And great tip about the freezer bags! I've added to my packing list

My son & daughter are both football + pokemon = easy life!

As for the freezer bags... not for me, i have trouble keeping the swiming shorts on, my mobile would end up where the sun doesnt shine !
