I wouldn't wait until the day they go, they would miss out on all the excitement of planning, talking to friends about it etc.
I think the minimum length of time I would leave it is just over six months, so they can get involved in the ADRs / character meals etc. |

We went at the end of november last year and told the girls in June. I wanted to wait for a few months but my eldests school came up with a trip she was desperate to go on and it would have been when we were away, so we had no choice! However, my youngest, who was 6, found the wait really long and up until it got closer (more or less after the October half term) she kind of lost the excitement because it was just too far away! We had a countdown which we changed every day, we watched vlogs and talked about it, planned it, but ahe just couldn't put the two together

We've always told them as soon as we book. It's been killing me. I may wait for a day they've all been really really well behaved and surprise them
