Air BnB is great! Look for a superhost or a booking with lots of reviews and you’ll be fine!

We have never used Airbnb before either but we were very impressed with the standard of accommodation on the website. As hideinpocket said above, we chose a superhost with plenty of good reviews. The whole process was very simple, we only paid around 50% of the cost to Airbnb now and the rest is due just a few weeks before we go. The host replied quickly and was very friendly, even saying she would be in touch nearer the date to offer airport transfers and details of trips from the area etc

We went to cavtat - ten minutes from Dubrovnik airport . We stayed in an apartment which had small pool - villa Fontana - have a look at that it may be more reasonable but does book up quickly . We used to get the water taxi to Dubrovnik and did trips to an other island . Could walk into cavtat with a choice of restaurants so didn’t need a car at all , there are places where you can book yours or days out too .

Also it may be just us but I feel two weeks may be too long - we had 7 days but I think the most we would have done there is ten days but if you do hire a car you have chance to go further afield . Of course it’s all personal preference.

Of course not, it was Hotel Plaza Duce. Fabulous smallish (100 rooms) hotel, we went B&B and lots of things to do. We are not lie by the pool people and were with our teenage son. We did lots of activities such as water sports, rafting, canyoning, kayaking, etc as well as visiting historic places too.

That hotel looks lovely. Unfortunately they only do max 3 people in a room so we would have to book 2 rooms and it's too expensive. Back to the drawing board!
