Venice Fl
Can anyone recommend places to visit in and around Venice Fl? We will be travelling from Orlando that day and have an overnight stay in Venice are there any places of interest, worth visiting en route.
Thanks

Venice is a nice town with quaint shops and a nice feel about, not touristy. The beaches are lovely and the Jetties are worth a look, good spot for seeing Dolphins and Manatees.

Sharkeys restaurant on the fishing pier is well worth a visit, especially around sunset. Have been going there for over 30 years and the seafood is superb. There is also another restaurant called the Craws Nest in the Marina area which is very nice. Outside of that Venice tends to be a quiet little town.
One side note is that Venice is actually infamous as several of the 9/11 terrorists learned to fly at the airport. Edited at 06:33 PM. |

The beach is wide with lovely sand. There is a good choice of places to eat in Venice itself.

We did this when we were there! It was actually the lovely friendly guy on the immigration desk at Tampa who told us about this
It was great, we found some. Also look out for Sand Dollars We found quite a selection of aquatic creatures whilst there actually including a big spiral shell with a crab inside it!
