JFK to Times Square - First Timer

We went in November and used the Airtrain to Jamaica and then the LIRR to Penn...you can of course use the subway from Jamaica to get to Times Sq. It was super easy and much cheaper and quicker than a taxi as traffic was really heavy going into Manhattan. Wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

We were going to take a cab but ended up getting hussled and went in a bus that was supposed to take us to our hotel. No, it took us to A hotel and then we had to wait for a mini bus to take us to our hotel and we were last and it was painful with 2 kids and we were knackered. Moral is...not get hussled the first time you visit NY. I would go for a cab.

Don't use Go Airlink. Travelbag sold me transfers with this company saying they use 7 seaters and as we were a party of 5, chances were that we would have a minibus to ourselves. Hmmmm they use 16 seaters. Took 1 hour 40 minutes to get to our hotel and 2.5 hours to get back to JFK last night. Nightmare! Other than that, New York was great. Just sat here trying to stay awake now 😴😴
