Avis - Car Swap - Miami

I understand that Avis offer a 'swap bay' when collecting at Miami (and others).

Has anyone used this and managed to get something they preferred?

nothing at MCO or Tampa when ive been there.

Also, download the app so you can swap out the car if your preassigned one is not what you want. (note - you can only do this as a Avis preferred member and not on your first rental.

The def used to have a swap lane at MCO they did last May when we was there, but I believe they have now been done away with

I was told the one at MCO was not in use in the summer months due to limited stock and space for replacement cars...

Dunno if thats still the case, though since they introduce the app for switching cars it removes this requirement.

I was allocated a car at Miami using Avis, and rejected the 1st 2 by just going back to the office in the garage, until I got a car I was happy with.

Will they swap out cars with no probs at all or are they funny about it, I�m really hoping for a Tahoe or an expedition but seen you can get quite a few full size suv�s!

Good luck, if they are low on stock and the car is in the correct group, they can be unhelpful.

We checked the Avis app when we landed in Miami last summer, was given a white Tahoe - which was the class we booked - got to the allocated bay and someone had taken it as a swap lol. Dh wasn�t happy but went to the little kiosk in the garage and they gave us a suburban at no extra cost to dh�s delight. Didn�t see a swap bay but we�ve rented from Miami a few times now and the guys in the kiosk have always been very accommodating
