Mobile Onsite Moderate resort prices

Hi everyone!

We are planning our 2019 holiday to Florida now. Going back there for the second time to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We went there for our honeymoon but stayed in a villa. We now want to stay onsite but realise it’s a lot more expensive. Is it worth it? Anyone got any idea what we can expect to pay for flights from Glasgow to Orlando end of September 19? Thanks. One stressed out couple!

As most airlines are only showing this years flights etc, just do a search for Sept/Oct this year to get an idea.

Thomas cook already have flights out for September 2019, Glasgow to Orlando on 23/09/19 is currently priced at £709 per person. Wether that's a good price or not I don't know was as we fly from Heathrow. I would say you should be able to get flights for less than £500 for that time of year when other airlines release their prices.

We love onsite stays, but we do a spilt stay because we also love offsite! So it makes sense to us, we do 5 nights onsite which is the minimum to qualify for the free dining plan, and then we're moving on to a villa for 10 nights (also doing 2 nights at universal Hard Rock Hotel before this)

All depends on what you want to do, yes it does cost a bit more but for the free dining, free parking, use of transport and the fast passes at 60 days, we feel it's worth the extra.

We love staying on site. Its is more expensive but so convenient. Years ago we used to stay ay Hyatt regency Grand Cypress which we also loved but once we started to stay onsite we were hooked.

Staying onsite is definitely worth it for me. Being in the Disney bubble made everything a lot more magical. We loved getting the Disney buses to and from the parks and it made everything more easy and convenient. Plus we had the free Magic bands, the free dining plan, ability to book fastpasses at 60 days out and to make 10 days of dining reservations at 180 days out. Not to mention when you buy items in the park you can have them sent back to your hotel gift shop so there’s no need to carry all those bags home. So many positives!

We did a split stay last year, 7 nights Disney and 7 nights Rosen inn. This year we are thinking 8 nights Disney and 6 nights onsite at universal as we loved being onsite and wanted to try it at universal too.

We live in Scotland but usually have to drive down to Manchester to fly to MCO, however this year we got a great deal with VA from Glasgow to MCO for the first two weeks in November ...You've just got to keep checking out various options and when the flight sales are on..We saved approx £900 for the three of us instead of a Manchester flight..As far as staying onsite, our first two trips ( 2004/2006 ) we opted for one week staying onsite and the second offsite..However since we have stayed the two weeks onsite, ( 2008/2010/2012/2014/2016 ) Out of the three moderate resorts we stayed at, PORS was our favourite..

Try Cabana Bay - we love it!

(if you want the universal express pass, just book a single night at Royal Pacific to get 2 days worth of express pass! )

Cabana Bay looks lovely and such a good location right next to Volcano Bay! It’s definitely at the top of my list! We don’t think we will need express passes as we went last May and it was so quiet!

It's a 5min walk with private access to Volcano Bay ... but don't take inflatable tubes with you - they won't let you in with them.
The tower suites are great with lots of extra space and internal corridor.
We found the staff especially, were very helpful and nice, nothing too much trouble.
