Dibbers,

Ok this could be a really stupid question, but here goes.

Id love to make the shuttle launch on the 8th October. But we have that much going on, and its our wedding anniversary the next day, that if it got delayed the wife would kill me, as she knows i would just want to sleep the next day lol lol.

I believe also its a 1:30am launch, which causes over probs, as i cant see the daughter who will be nearly 4 having the same enthusiasm as her dad for the launch lol.

Ok, so here is the stupid question. Just how visible will it be at night, i mean, would you be able to see something, even if it was a dot from Orlando? A Disney resort hotel, or am i just being a complete muppet.

Help

We watched it from MK last year and had a brilliant view. The atmosphere was excellent, everybody clapping and cheering. Something I wouldn't missed for the world

Doody you will be able to see flame from Orlando. Over on the coast it lights the sky up. Google shuttle night launch and you will see some images and I believe a few people even have you tube videos.

We saw a launch in July 06, but it was during the day, and although we could see it quite clearly, I bet a night launch is pretty spectacular. We watched it from our hotel overlooking Wet and Wild.

Thanks guys, that has kinda made me feel better - just difficult with everything we have planned.

Thats great though, if i can see it from All Star Music then i will be well chuffed, as i have a early start the next day to Royal Pacific, so will be easier on everyone.

If anyone has a pic of the shuttle from the Disney area that would be great, as i just dont know what to expect. A small dot, or a small dot with a large roar lol

I have been lucky enough to see three launches, the first from our villa north on 27 and two from Titusville. (It was bigger and more impressive than I expected) If there is no cloud you will see the shuttle easily from Orlando/Kissimmee but you wont hear anything. nothing beats seeing it from takeoff though, when you see the ignition and blast off and hear nothing... then the sound hits its like wow!

I will be going to Titusville to view, but it will be so different being that time in the morning! we usually get a table at Pauls Smokehouse ( and another the next day if its delayed ) and pop out to the waters edge to see the takeoff and then back in for desserts.. I guess it wont be open at that time LOL that way you don't feel like you had a total wasted..
