Caribbean Beach Resort building works and Old Port Royal closure

Got some very positive results..
Yeah.. massive rollercoaster of a ride that was.. will never forget the moment I realised my holiday as I booked it would turn out to be something I never imagined
So let’s watch this space.. Disney I know you’re reading this.. please please look after your customers.

Anyone know what this is about? I thought the gift card offer from last year was only up until a certain point..

In an effort to continually improve the Guest experience, we often refresh our offerings and atmosphere. We recently announced exciting changes that will be made at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World® Resort beginning May 1, 2017-June 30, 2018.

Please note Guests who booked reservations at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort prior to March 19, 2017, for arrival May 1, 2017-June 30, 2018, will receive a $75 Disney Gift Card, per night/per room. The gift card will be delivered upon check-in and may be used at participating Walt Disney World Resort Food & Beverage and Merchandise locations. This offer will not be available for reservations booked March 20, 2017 or after.

As a reminder, Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Banana Cabana Pool Bar and Calypso Trading Post will be closed for refurbishment May 1, 2017-June 30, 2018. A variety of dining options available to your Clients for meals. Please note the following updates:

An all-you-care-to-eat buffet offering will be available for breakfast and dinner.
A selection of grab-and-go meals will be available for purchase in three new island markets located in the Aruba, Jamaica and Martinique regions of the resort.
Additional a la carte offerings will be available at mobile food vending locations.
In-room dining will remain available, including pizza, sandwiches and pasta.
The feature pool—Fuentes del Morro Pool—and leisure pools will remain available.
Recreation activities and entertainment will also be available.

Why the Angry face ?
it's not gone past the 30th June so people are still going to be getting the GC from the original booking saga.

I think when damage first posted she didn’t see the bit that she later added about the 30th June end date.

Yep! Also the end date of the gift card was meant to be the end date of the works I’m guessing...? But we all know that’s not the case now 😂

It is all wrong though. They originally offered the gift card to people booking for when the food court was closed (bookings before 20 March) . But then when they extended that date to end August and then end of 2018 they don’t think it’s necessary to compensate any more.

Ah lol ok, well i know i agree with everyone on here that Disney have acted wrongly on this it sucks that people have had to fight so hard i went back and forth with TC over this and then Disney themselves before i got anywhere and i feel that the ONLY reason i did get anywhere is because TC made a mistake which Disney couldn't control, so often it's a case of it's better to book direct it seems this time that wasn't the case
