autistic adult

Hi its been 9 yrs since we last went to florida, my son is not a child anymore (mid 20's)and I remember last time we took GP letter which helped him as he also has spina bifida occulta which causes sciatica so standing for long periods of time can be painful, he also has aspergers syndrome.

Do the parks still do guest assistance passes? if not what has replaced them?

Thanks

Yes they do. You can either register on an online chat/video call up to 30 days in advance or when you arrive at guest services. The pre register option also allows two rides per day to be reserved in advance, but wait times for the chat can be long and you need a VPN to access the US webpage - it is worth trying though.

For Disney we didn't book in advance - went 4 weeks ago, we visited guest services on day 1 and they linked up the DAS pass for us and then we visited a blue umbrella guest relations point who added the 2 Das passes per day for our entire stay- you are then also able to book one Das pass at a time each day once in the park. it is very helpful for those who can wait but not stood in a queue. Happy planning

No need for any GP letters. The parks are not allowed to ask for "proof" of disability. They will ask you about your son's needs and why he can't stand in line.

And they might ask you to get him to use a wheelchair in line rather than das card.

Very true for pure mobility issues.
