July 4th “ American Independence Day” 1st Park Day

I understand it will be busy- anyone ever been on this day? Plus it’s a Saturday this year

Any park recommendations/ on site restaurant recommendations?

Thank you

Very busy indeed! My advice---get there early (because of phases of closing early) ride all you can, plan for FP+'s, and with the right mindset it can be do-able.
Magic Kingdom I think, this past year, closed to new incoming visitors starting around 11:00 a.m.
With proper planning it can be done, yes very busy, but it can be done! Ride early, and ride during the fireworks or parades for slightly smaller lines.

We are onsite so will get there early ( plus will be awake at silly o, clock as land day before )

Was thinking of MK then maybe not- do,they do special fireworks that day?

Yes, they will probably actually do them all week but they are spectacular. If you don’t want to be there too early just make sure that you book an adr for that day and you’ll get in. The character breakfast at The Crystal Palace is great if you have kids or are a Winnie the Pooh fan. Tony’s townhouse next to the entrance is nice as well but no characters.

We land the day before- I’ve got ADR at Narcoossee for 5-30pm on the 4th, we could watch the fireworks from there and avoid the crowds ( and possibly the atmosphere &#128524

We were there last summer. They had event fireworks in MK on the 3rd and 4th. Epcot was the 4th.
We went to MK on the 3rd. Great atmosphere, we watched the fireworks from the bridge in Frontierland. We had a good view and crowds were considerate and in great form.
The whole park had a good atmosphere although we did avoid the hub and Main Street.
Great party atmosphere and not too patriotic!
We were onsite so took advantage of EMH until 2am. Park was empty after the fireworks.
The 4th in Epcot was a different story. Packed out by mid afternoon. No nice atmosphere, lots of shoving and pushing and behaviour fuelled by alcohol. The queue for the tequila cave in Mexico snaked around the whole building!
Not for us and we left long before the fireworks and went to DS.
Wouldn’t put me off doing it again.

We've done Magic Kingdom twice on 4th July over the years. For DH, it's the only place to go that day, but we fully realise other parks or places in the area will be quieter, but what the hec, it's a great atmosphere!

Whatever you do, don't dress your kids in red, white or blue, so you can spot them in the sea of red white and blue! Orange or green maybe - I'm deadly serious.

The first time I ever went to MK was 4th July on a Saturday!

It was very busy, but very well managed. The fireworks were spectacular and there is just a special atmosphere to the place.

I’d do it again if the opportunity arises
