Two years ago I got a great pair of prescription lens Ray Bans from Costco here in the UK.
Even opted for the Polaroid mirror lenses, which costed a wee bit more but really look the part, you wouldn’t know they weren’t the original lenses. |

A few years now since DH got the Ray-Bans but I believe he paid roughly the same for prescription ones in Walmart as normal Ray Bans cost in the UK at the time. Obviously in recent years the exchange rate means they're probably not the bargain they once were. However, we can't fault the Walmart optical service, they have a great choice of frames, and DH is able to get his preferred NiKon lenses which are not so widely available here in your average high street opticians. They also often have deals on - this year it was 20% off a 2nd pair, and we've once had BOGOF where the "free " pair could even be for a different person/prescription.
And there's no sales tax on glasses in the US! |

My DS has prescription oakley sunglasses, he had them done at Boots in Bristol. He paid nearly £400 for them. He loves them and said they were well worth the money. He sold his Ray Bans for £100 as they weren't prescription lenses and he could no longer use them
