Closest, and cheapest priced, supermarket in Lake Buena Vista?
We'll be arriving late eve so won't be shopping then but will need to do a food shop the next day, planning on a combo of self catering and eating out.
We are staying at the Blue Tree Resort in Lake Buena Vista. What is the closest supermarket that is cheap? I was looking on Google streetview and saw a Walgreens but are they cheaper or expensive? I've heard of Publix but again, not idea on what their prices are like and if we go to a Walmart, I'm assuming a good couple of hours will probably need to be set aside. So recommendations welcome . |

FYI Walgreens is not a supermarket. I would classify it as a drug store more than anything. It has primarily medications, cosmetics, and toiletries. Larger stores may have some food but little more than a few processed foods, chips and snacks. Milk, soft drinks and a few papergoods. I have never seen a piece of fruit at Walgreens.
If you need a case of water, some milk and a few (unhealthy) snacks for the room you can pick them up there but they are more expensive than a supermarket. |

The one on the 192 next to Maingate Lakeside has fruit albeit prepacked on trays. We bought a selection pack with apples oranges and bananas as we were too tired to go further on, not cheap
Agree it is a drugstore that happens to sell a small selection of foods. |

A Walmart or a Super Target is your best option I would say bit you can be in there hours 😐 we found publix a little more expensive. There is a goodings at the crossroads at lake buena vista but it is a little more expensive. Depends how much travelling around and time you want to spend food shopping really.

Looks like it's Walmart, which I don't mind and DH loves a wander around a supermarket, just afraid we may never leave 😁.

There's a Winn Dixie really close to you (at corner of Lake Street and Apopka-Vineland. We stayed at Grande Villas recently which is next to Blue Tree. If walking go along Vinnings Way Blvd onto Apopka-Vineland. There's no path on Lake Street nor is there any street lights. If driving - will take a minute to get there.

I like Winn Dixie too and easy to get to from Blue Tree. Not as big as Walmart but decent prices. Walmart is only a short drive away and more selection though.
