Yes, it is the same area as Scripps Beach...this hotel is actually on La Jolla Shores which is south of the Scripps Pier. The beach area to the north of the pier is what we call Scripps Beach, so really they are adjacent to each other, divided by the pier. La Jolla Shores is the busier area, lots of families use that end of the beach...Scripps Beach is a bit quieter, it's a favorite spot of surfers (and most surfers are restricted to the pier and north of it because of all the swimmers at La Jolla Shores).
Del Mar is beautiful, the beach and the town...very upscale place. It's a bit out of the way to the San Diego attractions, but very lovely.
