COVID Testing Confusion

Hi
Just wondering if everyone has booked their testing or if it will be ok to book last minute.
Me and DH both fully vaccinated , DD12 doesn’t need to isolate but does need same tests (think I’m right )
Am I right that we need to book a test 3 days pre departure back to UK (can be lateral flow) and a PCR needs to be booked for day 2 of returning home?
I’ve seen where to book the PCR ones and would choose the test at home , don’t want to pay now though when we don’t know what’s going to happen. Just hoping there is availability nearer the time.
Unsure where to even start with regards to testing pre departure, not the kind of reservations we’re used to

Edit: For travel to and from Florida

Testing to go where?
If to Florida I wouldn’t book anything until borders are open

I don’t imagine anyone has booked any testing for Florida. The borders are still closed and direct flights are being cancelled.

But this is one of my concerns , rebooking everything again and not being able to sort out testing

Most travel agents are recommending booking testing 2 week's before departure given the uncertainty. Testing is one thing you def can't be refunded for and it costs hundreds

Is this for travel next year? Hopefully there won't be any testing then

When are you booked for? We still have no idea what the requirements will be if and when the border opens.
