Anyone Else Waiting For March 1st!

Hi,

If your the parent of a year 6 child then I'm sure you'll know what I'm referring to!

I can't believe that the wait is nearly over and tomorrow we'll find out which scholl DS will be going to in September. I'm 99.9% sure that he won't get a place at his preferred school as we are out of the catchment area and places are heavily sought after, so I'm preparing myself for 2nd or 3rd choice!

So if anyone wants to celebrate (or commiserate) please feel free to join me!

Vicky

Oh, I remember this well - went through the same last year. My son got his first choice of school - we were out of the catchment area and it was tenterhooks for a while. I jumped for joy.

However, I would have been happy with his 2nd choice (I only put two!) but elated of course he got his first!

Hope you don't have to wait too long - I registered online and was able to see it first thing!

Good luck and hope it is what you and your son want!

Thanks for your replies,
Luckily we applied online so won't have to wait for the postman.
I'll just be glad when its all over - it would have been so less stressful had our catchment area school been better!

Yes we will be waiting with baited breath for the letter to arrive on Wednesday, my DD is already working herself up because if she and her Bf dont get into their 1st choice school then its seperate schools for them. I've told her to try and put it out of her mind but she is 10 so that's not going to happen! .

Good luck to everyone I hope you get your first choices xxxx

We will be happy with any of the schools on our list but dread being allocated the local dump (that didnt go on the form but its not unheard of thats its allocated as no one with any sense EVER puts it on the form). 11 hours to go till we can log in and find out!

I feel for you I really do...
It is totally horrible, DS has a place on scholarship for performing arts via letter from the actual school but until that confirming e mail form the education authority pops into my in-box I still won't relax...
in an area like mine where unless you want the awful local academy, you have to apply to over-subscribed out of area schools and keep your fingers crossed, it's nail-biting stuff and SO wrong :-(

We find out on Wednesday...it annoys me that they post out the letters tomorrow but don't let you log in and find out online until the 2nd?! If you ask people to apply online you should allow them to check the result online!

We only have 1 school in the whole of Bournemouth my son is going to...if he doesn't get in then I have no idea what we will do. Appeal obviously but other than that its the expensive private for us!
