Hope its sorted second time round. This is another reason for people to submit their ESTA as soon as they know they are going. Minimum of 6 months so if you need a Visa you have time.

This could have quite easily resulted in a member of the party no going.

Make sure that you do leave it 24 hours, don't be tempted to do it before thinking that it will be okay as they've said it will be reset

I am also in a similar dilemma...my daughter was approved and mine was denied-we have previously had 3 ESTA's. Upon investigating i had chosen "yes" when answering do I wish to engage in terrorist activity? ! Obviously a mistake! I mean would a terrorist seriously answer yes? Some of the questions are very strange in my opinion. Anyhow I emailed and am eagerly anticipating an answer. My trip is August

I hope you get that sorted as I can't seem them being as lenient as an epilepsy mishap 😳

They may have put you on a no fly list after that! Double check if they decide to overturn it.
