Lyk card backed by mastercard or TC

Many people will have a lyk card thru TC. The card is provided by MC but who holds the funds paid onto the card. If its TC will it go into the liquidation fund. Is the money on theses cards separate and secure.

The answer from TC on twitter yesterday was this:

the funds are held by Wirecard in a Wirecard bank account at a regulated credit institution which is completely separate to the Thomas Cook business.
