He had a horrible childhood himself. He makes sure all 4 kids know how much he adores them and they in turn adore him. Its lovely to see them all together. And as a police officer taught them all self defence /officer safety moves ! Used by one daughter against school bully...

I lost my lovely twinkly eyed Dad more than 25 years ago but think of him every day. He taught me to be a decent, honest human being. He worked all his life to provide, was satisfied with what he’d got rather than what he would have liked to have, would rather be 1 hour early than 1 minute late, and would give away his last penny - generous to a fault. I can still hear him in my ear saying “He who expects little shall not be disappointed”. And that’s why he was happy with his lot in life. Miss him all the time

My dad taught me to drive, and passed 1st time when I was 17. The best thing he did making me independent, and having my own car.
