Problem with Minolta Dimage A1 Faulty Chip

Hi Guys
my Dad has a konica minolta dimage a1
when he came to take a photo yesterday the screen is all hazy kind purple and white.
Some one mentioned the chip has gone
it's out of warranty now it's it worth repairing ? someone mentioned it's expensive and the part may be obsolete
Any advise ? or any one had same problem

Never had this problem but things like this are usually uneconomical to repair.

Getting parts may cause some problems too as Konica Minolta effectively no longer exist as a brand when Minolta sold its digital camera wing to Sony earlier this year.

You could always try the company website for support and servicing.

Is it possibly a problem with the screen only and the camera still works correctly when you transfer the image to your PC.
