Plus you dry off really quickly in June/July/August so a towel is more of a bind than anything.

Hire towels as and when you need them i.e. when you leave. On our third trip however we found that by the time we had walked back to the car we were BONE dry! (well sweaty dry at least) We then went to our villa for a shower and then out for the evening. The showers on site are quite busy around closing time and we prefered the showers in our villa.

Mr Ed
Great tip. We hired towels at the start of the day on an October trip & never used them as we kept drying out so fast in the heat.

Thanks for that. Wasn't sure if it was a plunge pool or not.

I like it when you can just walk in

I absolutely love Typhoon Lagoon. I'm a big kid at heart so get to drag my son round all the slides while the wife can relax and sunbathe near the main Lagoon.

On the subject of money, isn't there a wristband you can get for making purchases which get charged directly to your Credit Card whilst at the park, therefore negating the need to carry cash around during the day, or did I just dream that last bit up?

Sounds like my idea of a water park visit! I love them because they are so relaxing ye t my kids who are teenagers now & can go off on their own have a great time too.

My tips are to make kids swim in an old t-shirt, on our 1st vist to a water park in Florida we all burnt our shoulders despite high factor cream! You don't realise how much you are stood out of the water.

Also wear pool shoes or flip flops that concrete gets very hot.

So If you are there in August & see a large lady in a large t-shirt wearing sunglasses & a hat, floating round the lazy river, don't laugh , say hello. It will be me. I will prob be on my own or may be with DH but he gets fed up floating round. And the kids just disown me.

But I'm happy!

Get to the water parks for opening time, also you'll often find the futher round the park you go the quieter. A lot of people stop at the first spot they find, but there are often nice quiet area's futher round it you take the time to find them.

Thumbs up

We love the water parks and even if we don't do the theme parks we always do at least one wp. Can't wait for the new one to open next year.
I always take towels - we go on everything early in the day and then spend time relaxing on loungers when it gets busy.
You'll love your 2 days at the wp - they're great fun and so relaxing after heavy theme park days.

Definately go to the water parks, my 2 DD's would go every day if we let them they love it, especially Blizzard Beach.

We have been going for years and the only time we couldnt find a chair or a sun lounger was last Christmas as it was packed in Typhoon Lagoon, it was one of the busiest Chrismas. We still spend about 3 hours there with the girls and went back another twice

Mr Ed
We always head here too. Everyone seems to dash towards the main lagoon, but the area near Crush n Gusher is generally quieter and like Mr Ed says ideal for the pool at the bottom of the ride.

Can i join the lazy river gang too?
I'm not looking forward to going to the water parks as i'm petrified of the slides etc, so i plan on taking a good book and spend lots of time on that lazy river - if i can actually manage to get on one of those tubes (another fear of mine!)
