Don't book tickets too soon

I paid the deposit for tickets for 5 adults in June 2019 to secure prices for April/May 2020. When I looked the other day the tickets were £50 cheaper each than I have reserved. I contacted Orlando Attractions who said they purchased them at that price so could not reduce the cost. I've since got a price from attraction tickets direct and now have magic bands and discovery cove included for the same price I was paying before. Lost my £50 deposit but still much better deal.

Don't get hooked into 'the prices may be so much higher next year so book now' as it may backfire.

but it could so easily have backfired the other way!
I booked our flights very near release date as they were within my target price, then Thomas Cook went bust and the flight prices shot up! this is why I try and put down deposits where I can and then cancel and lose the deposit if the savings worth while !

Disney and Universal ticket prices typically start high and then tend to reduce in price. The 2020 Disney tickets reduced in price at the end of November last year and are now cheaper than they were for most of 2019. Therefore, yes, it's best to wait until December or after (if you can) before you book your tickets for the following year.

Of course, if you want to stay onsite at Disney and get free dining then you have to book the room and tickets between April and October when the tickets cost a bit more. But if you are not staying onsite then it's better to wait a bit until prices go down.

Flights are a different kettle of fish.
