One way flight to Miami Cost
Hi all, does anyone have any advice for getting the best price on one way flights?
We are doing a Transatlantic cruise leaving from there next May and just having a look at current one way flights to Miami for early next year but prices seem the same as a return. Thanks

Think about booking a return, and using it in the autumn. Transatlantic cruises are a bit addictive, we've done loads, eastbound in the spring, westbound in the autumn.
If that's not viable, the idea to ask the cruise line is spot on, it will definitely be cheaper than what you're seeing. Sue x Edited at 03:04 PM. |

One way flights are almost always equal or more than a return flight in my experience - unless you are using points/miles.
Recently a 1 way flight from MCO was £876, the same flight was 12,500 miles plus $151. |

The reason that one way fares look so expensive is that they are based on fully flexible fares and return tickets are subject to varying degrees of restrictions. Now that Covid is passing we will find that airlines will become less generous with their change/cancellation policies in the near future.
I agree with previous posts and suggest you try your cruise company. Quite often they already include a one way flight option but if that isn't the case for you I think it is a good idea to try them first. Be very careful of buying a return ticket out to the US and not using the return leg as it could result in complications with the US authorities if you don't check in for your return flight. It is a shame that Norwegian Airlines aren't operating anymore as they did offer lower one way fares. I'm not sure how Play the Icelandic airline will work for one ways as haven't had time to look at their fare structure but perhaps worth a look but they are only operating into Orlando. |

We have cruised transatlantic and either booked it as a package which seemed to bring the cost of the flight down or when sailing with Princess used their flight options effectively booking it as a package. When sailing with Celebrity and booking via a cruise booking agent we even were able to arrange the return flights by a few weeks as we stopped in Florida for a holiday first and asked for the flight to be back from Orlando.

Have a look at TAP flying via Lisbon from LHR and MAN. They have reasonable one way fares.
