Mobile Work pay during beast of east

Now I don’t want to start a debate
And aware of employers have different policies but do we get paid for a snow day 🤔
While I be ok I if I didn’t there lot people who cannot afford to lose pay
I’m a community carer had yesterday and today off due school being closed as I have small child
Today boss has given me tomorrow off as driving conditions are to bad and I can’t walk to clients due to disability
I’m happy to use annual leave to cover my time but heard this should not be case

our rules are

if you have come in and you are sent home you get paid

if you can't make it in and work is open, then you can either take a day's leave, make the time up within 2 months or have it as unpaid

if we inform staff we won't be opening, they will get paid

I didn't go in today and I'm making the time up next week. Driving conditions here are treacherous. Most of my patients cancelled appointments and the other nurse was able to get in for the rest thankfully.

I work for NHS and our policy is if you get to work and work half a day you get full days pay.

If you can’t get in you get unpaid leave or annual leave if you have any or you can use flexi time.

If you have a child you get one day special leave if schools shuts and then you are expected to arrange childcare.

I am lucky and can walk in, we aren’t able to do any community visits and we cancelled them but we aren’t an urgent service. We got sent home about 1.45. I started at 9am and should of finished at 5.

You have a choice (everyone does), but you probably also have a moral obligation to go in

If I don’t make it in then it’s unpaid or I can use annual leave or make up the time. I think that’s fair enough.

I work for NHS, tho not front line staff but admin. I had to make up the 1.5 hours from yesterday and 8.5 for today, dint want to use annual leave and wouldve preferred to take unpaid, but told that not an option.
