Fifty people have preallocated , not fifty people have booked. I suspect the seat plan may look a bit different the day you fly.
That said I've had three seats to myself transatlantic a few times (I travel termtime) including out to Orlando last September so you never know !

Isn't there a thread "is my flight full" here on DIBB somewhere and maybe you could ask on that one?

I'm not sure that gives any more of a clue than the seat map. I'll try thanks.

I think the person that helps on that thread has access to data so he/she can see how many seats sold which might be different than what you see on the seat map. Fingers crossed !

Thanks for the tip, I've put a request in for info. Looking at previous replies it's much more detailed than I thought it would be.

Our return flight on May 12th has been consolidated to the earlier flight losing us 2 hrs of the holiday. Luckily we are there for 3 weeks!

Exactly how near to a flight date can they "consolidate" it? I'm flying on Sunday, they've already moved us once, they won't do it at this short notice will they? How about our homeward trip too? We have made plans to meet up with family as it's our anniversary while we're over there.

If it’s a BA flight different tiers of the members club can book ‘free’ at different times. I think that Bronze members can book at 7 days preflight while Blue can book at 24 hours. This latter booking window is not worth it as by then BA has already allocated seating. 🛫✈️🛬

Very unlikely at short notice because EU261 comes into play. When you take all classes you are at a minimum of 150 people each way at 600 euros each.
They tend to do consolidations months out, when they do not get caught in having to pay compensation. Instead they often make money as the more expensive flight of the day can get merged into the cheaper flight with no refund.
