Who did we meet today at AK?

Today at AK we met this "creature" does anyone know who/what this is? She is just after the entrance on the right hand side but not posing for photographs and there were small children screaming and running away

DM thinks it's Poison Ivy.

Is she Disney related at all or just in keeping with the jungle/wildlife theme of animal kingdom cod I can't recall her in any Disney film

She moves around the park. We've seen her a few times but I've never been scared of her. She usually moves very slowly and elegantly.

I met this lovely character on my very first trip.to orlando. Now I have a bit of a weird phobia type thing about stilt walkers, they really freak me out and I will actively avoid them. so imagine my horror on feeling a tap on the shoulder whilst standing deciding what we were going to do, and turning round to this. I actually ran!, have never seen her since and am quite happy not t. xx

Her name is DiVine, and she has been entertaining at Animal Kingdom since 1998. She’s a character who is hired by Disney to help convey the park’s theme of teaching us that nature is invaluable. She’s painted green, walks on stilts, and is wrapped in leaves and ivy to camouflage herself into the rest of the park’s foliage. In fact, if you get near her before the crowd gathers – you may find that DiVine blends so completely with Animal Kingdom’s dense flora that you may never notice her until she moves.

Yep, Divine. She has been there for several years around the park. We have several pictures of her. She can be quite camouflaged and make people jump out of their skin!

We just missed her a couple of years ago (seeing her bath disappearing through a gate to go backstage, saw her in the foliage last year, but this year she was out on the path posing with people for photographs, and I got a couple of DD with her.

I think she's beautiful. Her face is so serene and peaceful. Just lovely.

We've never seen her walking - only seen her standing still, totally camouflaged by the trees until she turns slightly.
