Sorry to disagree but I adore the original and can't get used to the idea of live action instead of the cartoon original. The music from the first version is so brilliant as well.

Saw this yesterday afternoon and, well, it was a bit disappointing.

It's a good film but, other than the wonderful CGI, it doesn't add anything to the original. I would've said the original was slightly better. I enjoyed the music and storyline but I could have saved myself some money and just put the original on at home and enjoyed that.

It didn't help that the cinema was very full and there were lots of distractions - kids screaming, people rustling bags of stuff, kids swapping seats every 5 minutes, adults getting up and down, talking, etc. It was one of the worst cinema experiences I've had.

ETA: Just remembered... Can You Feel the Love Tonight played during a daytime scene?!? Wha..?

Where you in the same cinema as me?! On Saturday as well also had annoying people near us doing the exact same 😐
As for the film, I liked it but the original was best IMO. I did like the new Timone though! 😁

It wasn't just near us - it was throughout the cinema. Admittedly that's the problem with going to see a kid's film on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

I liked some of the new Timon/Pumba jokes - such as when Timon didn't interrupt during Hakuna Matata "And I got downhearted, every time that I..." and the bit about Simba gaining 400lbs whilst they didn't change at all (and they had kept singing the song all that time!).

We saw it today and enjoyed it, but didn’t think it was anywhere near as good as the original. I did cry at several points through the film, but more from nostalgia I feel.

It was very well made but it didn’t really add anything different to the original, whereas some other remakes, such as Aladdin, did. I didn’t like Beyoncé as Nala and felt she oversang Can You Feel the Love Tonight? (Also felt it was a bit silly singing that in day time). I did enjoy Timon and Pumbaa. In fact I enjoyed the whole film, just not as much as the original or the stage show.

Also when Mufasa died (sorry Dubletrub for the spoiler 😂 ) I cried, but then laughed as a little girl behind us said sadly “ They need a Doctor” 😢 😂

Saw it today and wow! Went to IMAX as the time suited us the best and it was so immersive. I was in bits from the opening "Arsen Wenger"

We also loved the Beauty and the Beast nod...very funny.

Only disappointment was that I had read there was a special scene in the credits so we waited until the very very end but there was nothing 😔

We just saw this today. I was a bit underwhelmed. It was stunning but not really different enough from the original to justify a remake and I really didn’t like Be Prepared which is a song I usually love.

Did laugh out loud at Beauty and the Beast and Pumba and Timon were good. More of them and less Scar would have suited me.

Just got back from taking my Grandson to see the Lion King. I cried the whole way through the film. Really enjoyed it.
