Weird question re cereal boxes!

Hi all,

Sorry in advance for a weird question!

We are currently building our own kitchen and DH is about to put shelves in our larder, but I want a shelf tall enough for a family size box of cereal (the really large ones that you can get for cornflakes/Rice Krispies etc), but typically we haven’t got one that I can measure right now and googling has proved unsuccessful - I wonder why? Hahaha!

I used to have to put large boxes on their sides in the old larder and I want to avoid that this time if I can!

As I say sorry for the bizarre question!

I’ve just measured a 1kg box of cornflakes, and 700g box of rice crispies and they are both 35cm tall 😊

I agree - thankfully our plates do fit in the cupboard - but only just. Having said that our roast dinner often spills off the side of the plate! 😂

I have taken to decanting cereal into Tupperware boxes as they never fitted in my pathetically small cupboards, but I did read somewhere (probably here) there is a way to unfold them to reduce their height a lot...?

Our cupboard use to be able to take a 750g box of Frosties but in the last year they increased the box height and reduced its depth, very angry as they use to fit !

height of 750g box of Frosties is 34 cm
