Weird Electrical Problem
For the last few nights the TV goes off for a second when the hall light is switched on or off, any ideas? Nothing has changed set up wise.
TIA

Notice anything else dipping? Maybe a oven clock losing it’s time.
Sounds like a brown out. Voltage dips for half a second and will lose electronics first and then maybe some led or energy saving lights?

When you say goes off, do you mean switches off or the screen goes blank?
Could be electro magnetic interference from the switch. |

Electricity issues are best left to a qualified Electrician.
However my first port of call would be to change the light switch and see what happens. If the issue continues then circuits need checking. Can be a long job to track a fault down. However I wouldn't worry too much about it as the circuit breaker will spike if there is an issue.

Is the light a fixed light or plugged into a socket (square pin 13A socket and not a round pin 5A socket)?
If a fixed light - then this shouldn't happen as they should be on totally different circuits and I think you need an electrician. If it is a light is plugged into a normal 13A socket, they might be on the same ring and the socket is faulty and may need replaced. |

They can be on separate circuits if the interference is electro magnetic rather than in the circuit itself and affecting the signal not the power on the TV.
There was the amusing example recently where someone switched on their TV every day and took out the broadband of surrounding houses for a moment. |
