Jet ski hire for a 17 year old?

I assured my son 17 year old son that this year we could hire a jet ski each, but having just received an email response from makaio jet ski rentals, my son has to be 18. I am sure that I read some where that he could hire a jet ski at 17.

If anyone knows somewhere he can hire a jet ski in Orlando aged 17 we would be grateful.

Was 18 everywhere in St Petes guess it's down to the insurance

Thanks for the replies, I think I was maybe daydreaming because I am sure it was 17 somewhere I previously looked. I feel a little guilty because I told my son he could jetski this year.

I think you can't rent one yourself if you are under 18 but as long as you have a permit you can operate one provided you are over 14 years of age. Obviously as well it depends who you are renting from. Dd aged 17 could drive her own jet ski after sitting a permit test, it only took a few minutes, Dh had his own jet ski. (This was at fort myers beach) forgot to say you mus take photo I'd with you e.g passport or drivers license as proof of age.

Thanks for that. We are going to Clearwater so I will check with the jet ski company there.

Good idea, but my son has done Segway several times with ZE Segway tours around Celebration.
