Almost identical process, and approved pretty quickly (but I've got Canadian PR so don't need one so have only heard about it from friends who have travelled with us)

Some top tips in Toronto though - The CN Tower, the harbour, the Toronto Islands, you could also see a hockey game there, the aquarium, the Eaton Centre is an underground shopping centre, Candas Wonderland is a theme park about an hour away, if I can think of anything I'll add to this later!
Good point missed out the islands - and if you are there in the summer you should definitely experience them (if only for the ferry ride which gives a great view of TO from the water)

Be careful though if you go to the islands, the far corner beach is for the people who have packed light (nudist beach), it comes upon you pretty quick of you don't know it's there, one minute you are walking past people playing soccer, the next they still are but everything is a bit more wobbly and everyone is playing skins not shirts

Yes in the city almost nowhere is more than a 5 minute walk from a TTC train, tram or bus stop

The inter city transport isn't so hot, after all every Canadian has at least one car so you'd drive any real distance
