The extension lead tip is marvelous. Something we wouldn't of even thought off if it wasn't for the DiBB

We took a couple of adapters and an extension lead. Plugged in every night was DW I phone, my galaxy s3 and batteries recharging for the camera for the following day. The odd night DS recharged his 3ds on it as well. We brought 2 fairly small digital cameras with us. One of them didn't even make it out if the bag.

As I wanted to use the excellent sat nav on my phone, I got an American sim card for my phone when I was over there. We also invested in a set of walkie talkies for the parks. Finally, publix supermarket sell q temporary toll device for $5 which when topped up meant that we were able to use the sun pass lane for the rest of our visit.

As far as I know, iPhones, iPod touches and iPads now all use iMessage which are all internet based. You can message between them as long as you are connected to WiFi without costing you. Just make sure that you turn off all of your network settings except WiFi.

As mentioned Facetime is also a brilliant way of contacting eachother. There is also a good app called Viber that we used to contact home last time which is internet based so no costs when on Wireless.

Each to their own of course but I couldn't stand to take all that technology away with me. I like to get away from all that faff on holiday! Whenever we go away all we take is a camera and both of our phones although mine mostly stays switched off in my case. I just can't relax surrounded by gadgets!
