Recommendations for Miami and the Keys

We are planning a split stay, I know where I want to stay in WDW, however I am looking for recommendations for Miami and the Keys?

We're stopping off for one day in Miami on our way to the Keys and decided on this hotel:-

Price was decent, its on Ocean Drive and gets decent reviews.

I had originally booked the Fairfield Inn at Key West, which is located about 3 miles from Duvall Street but cancelled that reservation and boked here after reading another thread here where it was recommended:-

Again, it gets decent reviews, is a decent price and has free parking (which is a big thing in Key West, having struggled to find somewhere to park when we drove down there last year!)

I guess it really all depends on how much you want to spend and what you're looking for

We stayed three night Miami at courtyard Cadialiac ( lovely and great for kids) and we drove to the keys but I would stay on the keys next time as it took us a while to get there.

We are doing Miami for 2 nights and then driving to The Keys next year
Not booked any hotels as yet but very tempted with The Loews Miami Beach and then want to stay 3 nights in mid Keys area, probably Marathon so that we can explore The Keys either way...
Been put off actually staying at Key West due to it being very 'adult' in the evenings. We will go there but just as a day trip as our 10 year old is with us

The Chesapeake Resort is about half way down the Keys on Islamorada, we've stayed there twice, it's lovely. Pussycat

We stayed at Glunz Beach Resort in Marathon and would stop there again in a heartbeat!

It was immaculately clean, the views were to die for, private beach, kitchen, tv etc. and the staff were lovely. It was also reasonably priced.

For Miami look for accommodation on Ocean drive below 17 street .
South beach is the area to stay in .

We came back 3 weeks ago and during our stay we spent 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Marathon. It was a very comfortable 2 nights with a great breakfast, could not believe how much they had on offer, even tho it was just a continental style breakfast. Would definitely go back if I went down to the Keys again.
