Kennedy Space Centre
Hi all!
A few years ago, we went up to Kennedy (only two booths open) and waited in line - without moving - for nearly an hour. An error on our part was not to have bought our tickets in advance. A member of staff was going down the line offering to answer questions (on space exploration! ) so I asked why more ticket booths were not open! Needless to say, she quickly made herself scarce! As our two boys were quite young, and there was no shelter from the sun, we felt that we had to leave. We are travelling back to Orlando this summer. The kids are 9 and 10 now and we wondered if any of you had any feelings on whether Kennedy is worth a trip, can we get a full day out of it, what should not be missed etc. If so, where should we get our tickets from? All comments and advice greatfully received as usual! The Bells |

We went over there on Thursday, and had no problems getting in. We bought our tickets at KSC on the day, and waited no more than 5 minutes to buy the tickets. They had about 4 booths open as I remember...
We all really enjoyed the day, and would really recommend paying the extra for the 'Up Close' tour... takes you right out to the shuttle launch pads, and offers a more personal tour. Make sure you get there early though, as these tours are limited in number and sell out very quickly... |

We went in October 2004 and think its well worth a visit. We bought our tickets on the gate but as above would recommend getting there early, your boys are a great age to understand and appreciate the visit.

We went in October 05 (read all about it in my trip report!). We bought tickets at the gate - it only took a few minutes and we did the 'dine with an astronaut' as well as the second museum (Hall of Fame) up the road as well.
DS (then 8 1/2) enjoyed it as they had been studying space at school, so it all meant something to him and we didn't have to explain loads. We're glad we went - there's still very little shelter from the sun there though |
