I don't even know where to start...

So, we have booked to fly on July 18th, staying in AKL.

We have the following bookings
£200 deposit to Disney-balance due today of £6.5k ish included free Dining plan

£4800 paid to Expedia in full for flights with United and car with Budget

I dont even know where to start...so many questions...wonder if any of you can give me some advice based on your own experiences please...

With Disney, I think the best I can hope for is to ask them to move deposit to a new booking in a years time. I think I have read they wont allow free dining now as it hasnt been announced, but that if they do later announce it they would reinstate it for us?

With the flights and car hire with Expedia-does anyone know what I will be able to get with them? Will it be a credit note for the two companies, United and Budget, that Expedia hold on to for us? I am not hopeful of getting a refund at this time as it is too far out...just dont really know what I can do

Any advice reallly really gratefully received.

Can’t help with most of your questions but we are due to fly exactly the same day as you!
Flights booked and paid for with virgin. I rang Disney yesterday and they have moved payment date from today to 13th June if that helps? I just felt that gave us a bit more time.

I am currently on hold to Disney-we have decided we want to rebook for next year. Estimated wait time is 86 minutes-I am pretty sure my phone battery will pack up before then!

Disney will move the booking for you. Whether they’ll change it to free dining is debatable. Some people have been told they’ll be able to move it across for a £50 amendment fee although I couldn’t see anything in Disney T&Cs about that so I’m assuming it’s a goodwill gesture.

😬 yesterday I was on hold for about 45 minutes. My parents keep an old plug in landline phone (ie not cordless so doesn’t require plugging in/battery power) in case of power cuts so I borrowed that and plugged into my landline for this very reason 😃
Good luck x

Disney phoned us back and full refund in 2 days. We were due to go end June.
Virgin are now saying no flights before August
You probably need to wait until they cancel flights

So I got through to Disney-they have extended date to pay balance to 35 days out-she said this is for everyone now. I am going to keep everything crossed that they announce free dining in this time, then I would be really happy to rebook for next year.

Looked at my booking with Expedia. There was an option to get a full refund on the car, so clicked that button, and got refunded straight away. So that feels good. just the flights now to try and untangle!

THanks guys, I have had my head in the sand about this for so many weeks now, it feels a relief to be making some decisions!

With it being Disneys 50th Anniversary next year they may not offer free dining.

Just a word on Expedia, keep a record of every contact you make with them. I would suggest online chat or email so you can keep an exact record of what was said and when. For anything non-refundable they are being absolutely awful.
