Excited about Disney

Just to add to my previous post if you go on the 'All Ears' Website and look at the dining options they give excellent information on the menus and what you get at each dining place (just scroll down to the quick service list when you get there).

I won't repeat the good advice everyone's already given you but I highly recommend this dining plan thread as it's really helpful too

The app was only updated on my last few days. But from memory it's linked with your hotel reservation and you can also see charges on your account.
(The hotel reservation has dropped off now so I can't see it) I too guess it's activated on check in.

Do you have to tell a CM you are on QSDP/DDP or will it automatically pick it up when your Magic Band is scanned?

They usually ask you but I always prefer to tell them too just in case. They can tell you have QSDP/DDP when you do scan your band - but they will already have rung in the meal and the settlement method at that point.

We always say we want to use dining plan credits just to keep it clear.

Once you've checked in (or actually a few hours after) there will be an options under your plans to click on your hotel stay. You can view dining plan credits and room charges from there. It updates very quickly. The only negative is that our option to see dining plan credits disappeared while we were still able to use them on checkout day and the ability to see room charges went the day after. I'm going to email Disney about that.
