I am interested in that answer to. I arrive on Monday to a hotel in Madeira (Barefoot Beach) on the beachfront. I've emailed the hotel but not had a response.

Looks like the Gulf coast around there got off lightly with even less rain than Orlando had.
The Tampa Bay times said minimal damage along the coast. A HJ lost its roof in St Petes but other than a petrol station canapy north of Madeira Beach just small damage. Roads roads etc are open now. A few issues with power still and sewage pumps they are working on fixing. Offical word here : madeirabeachfl.gov/hurricane-information/ So should not cause you a problem by the time you get there. |

By the time you get here, it should be fine.
There are many major outages along Gulf Blvd still; maybe why you've heard nothing yet as no power, no internet comms etc. We are in a hotel in Largo & we got power back yesterday evening; however whilst our rental condo in Indian Shores sustained no damage except some tree debris etc we still don't know when we'll be able to check in there as they have no power yet. However we know from other guests that both Sand Key, Clearwater & Indian Rocks Beach got power back this afternoon; another guest from Madeira Beach knows he still has no power. Power outages are very localised right now but the trucks are out & about restoring as fast as they can. 2 weeks is a long time & I'm sure all will be fine! |

Thank you. To be honest, I didn't get in touch with the villa owners because didn't want to disturb them at this time. Did so today and they came back within 15 minutes. No damage, and no power loss at any point were they are. Also said there is little damage in the immediate area
We are not going till the end of October, so sounds like everything will be done and dusted by the then Onward! |
