We actually brought this topic up with a CM last year, she gave us an email address for a 'management' person who we emailed to say the same thing. We think it'd be great of Disney did an optional 'hidden disability' lanyard like some airports do, that CMs are trained to recognise.
Similar to Clodagh, my 11yr old DD has Aspergers and you wouldn't know it to look at her. Several restaurant staff were visibly annoyed/frustrated when she would struggle with the multiple options they gave her, for example, and her behaviour in queues can be hard work. I think if others around her were aware of her difficulties, they might have been more tolerant? Even the CMs insisting that everyone in a queueing area squeezes up tight to fill up all the spaces? Hopefully the manager will take the initiative and go further with the idea, but I didn't ever receive a reply to my email! |
