A family of 4 will cost thousands to go, what’s an extra 30-40 dollars matter (or whatever cost).

I just said to DH that we will take a box or two of Cheerios. He likes an early cereal bowl to take his tablets with. I can wait until we get to have a decent breakfast somewhere near the villa. We have luggage space going out. Our villa has the welcome pack of milk and basics. And we will hit Walmart too, taking a few basics from home makes life easier.

Doesn’t matter to me at all, if they want to waste space in their suitcase for cereal you can buy over there that’s their business..

Yes, I stock up on them too when they're on offer as we always take them with us. We stay on-site with no car, so by far the easiest option for us. Have zero desire to visit Walmart on holiday.
We don't eat them every day, but they're perfect for those mornings when we just want a quick breakfast in our room before heading straight to the parks. Other days we'll get breakfast for on the food court. Plus, I also see it as reserving space in our cases for the things we'll buy to bring back

I see it as reserving space in our cases to bring back the things we buy rather than wasting space.
For our personal circumstances we'd waste time and money going to Walmart to only buy cereal. Would much rather just relax and be on holiday.
