DLP for New Year 08!

Hi not sure if any Dibbers have been to DLP over the New Year period but me and DH have just came back from Florida and would love to try the next best thing to America! SO we have priced it at £1,196 to stay at hotel Cheyenne from 29th Dec - 1st Jan. Is this a good deal? We have also priced it through Easyjet and booking accomidation separatly but only worked out about £100 cheaper. I don't know if you get transport included to the hotel and to the airport included in the price does anyone know?

Thanks x x

Where did you get the quote from? It sounds like a lot of money to me. The cheapest way is to book direct through disney. I have a brochure here if you want me to look and tell you the cost from the brochure?

Should be about the same price. They are probably charging extra because its new year.

I would rather save up a little more and go back to florida! We have experienced DLP and did not enjoy it at all. People didn't wait in line to see characters, it was just a free for all, not very organised like the USA. Even the staff were un-interested in anything that was going on. But this is only my opinion. I just think for a bit more you could go on a great holiday for 2 weeks in florida instead of a couple of nights in paris.

I'd say that's a lot of money. I've got a week booked there soon for two of us at the Sequoia Lodge using the Eurostar and it hasn't cost that much!

Yes but is that over the New Year period? As things do tend to go up in price over the holidays esp xmas and new year?!

Its definately bumped up for the Christmas/New Year period so don't worry. If you've priced it through the Disney website, then you're not really going to get a better deal that that. Just do your transport separately cos their prices are a bit silly, you can get cheaper

Just a thought - have you considered getting the train down to London and getting the Eurostar? That takes you right to the gates of DLP so you don't need to worry about getting a taxi/shuttle from the airport (which can be a nightmare and/or expensive). Just a thought - trains from Newcastle aren't that expensive if you book in advance

No I havent priced it for the eurostar but it is worth a try if it will keep the cost down?! How long does it take do you know from Newcastle? I thought if I booked the full thing through the Disney website that would include transport in the full costing from the airport and return?
