The Todds Do Texas - Pre Trip

So in 9 days we will hopefully be in Texas. I say hopefully as hubby works for an airline and we are going standby so fingers crossed we get on the flight.

A little about us. We are a family of 4 Me - Kit 33, Craig 35, Chloe 9 and Michael 6.

Last year we did Disney for 3 weeks and I am ashamed to say I only got as far as day 6 on our trip report . I will finish it at some point but wanted to do to get ahead with our Texas report, hence this pre trip report.

We have booked into the Fairfield Inn in Texas City which is supposed to be halfway between Houston and Galvaston.

Thanks to some great tips from fellow dibbers we have some great ideas of where to go but having only 8 days we wont manage everything.

We are planning on going to Dallas to see the Lego Discovery Centre as DS is Lego mad but we haven't told the kids this just incase we don't get to Texas. While in Dallas we wany to take in some JFK sights.

In Houston we want to do the Zoo and the Kids museum and the Space centre. We are looking at getting a city pass wich will give us entry to 5 of the main attractions for about $180.

We also want to see the Galvaston area and Galvaston Island.

So thats our plans so far. IF we don't get on the flight then our backup plan will be to take the car to France and then to Euro Disney so either way it should be a good holiday.

Hope you manage to get your flight! Trip sounds wonderful, but then DLP as an alternative isn't bad either!

My friends both worked for BA and I went on hols with them a couple of times - was a bit nerve-wracking but we always got on the flight we wanted. Fingers crossed you do too!
