They were when we went in October (it’s possible they weren’t both open every day. Can’t be sure if that was the case or not).
Still very warm in October. |

Thanks, they would obviously like all parks to be open when paying so much for tickets. Does it usually get dark quite early?

Both water parks will still be open in October. Google indicates Sunset is around 6pm in October.

Do you mean this year? I think Typhoon Lagoon is currently closed and has been since it closed due to the pandemic.
I'm not sure on dates, but in normal times one park closes towards the end of the year, then when it reopens the other park closes. Certainly one park is closed at Christmas and they are both open around March.

It's possible only one will be open in October, as they both close over the cooler months for yearly maintenance and the exact closure date varies quite a lot. Sometimes it's been as early as mid September, other times not until early November. It's usually some time in October that the first park closes though.
Normally it would be Typhoon Lagoon open Oct-Dec, and Blizzard Beach open Jan-Mar. But with TL still being closed with no sign of opening soon, not sure what's going to happen this year. Edited at 01:01 PM. |

We were last there in September 2019 and there was only one open then. I got the impression that it was normal for only one water park to be open that time of year, I suppose it could have been a one off though.

Here is the closure history btw. As I said earlier, the dates really vary. So if you went in 2018, both were probably open as BB didn't close until the 28th. But not in 2019, as BB closed at the beginning of September.
