Looking for Hotel near Disney, but Offsite with shuttle as don't want to hire a car
Hello
I'm a newbie to Orlando so please be patient Can anyone recommend a hotel for my Husband, 15 year old Daughter and I that's close to Disney parks and local restaurants? We don't really want to be onsite as would like the option of dining out, but we won't have a hire car so need to be either in walking distance (is there such thing in Orlando?) or a cheap uber ride away from parks or at a hotel with a shuttle. We don't need fancy, but clean and a pool preferable and are looking at around £100 a night. Thank you |

Welcome
Nothing other than the Disney deluxe resorts are within walking distance of the parks. There are however hotels within walking distance of Disney Springs, which are the official partner hotels. So you also get most of the benefits of being onsite, since you're technically on Disney property, but the hotels are operated by other companies. disneyholidays/wal...artner-hotels/ All of them offer shuttles to the parks. Pre-Covid it was very good and ran all day, but currently at a reduced service of just mornings and evenings. Being walking distance to Disney Springs, it's quite easy to get to there and then walk the rest of the way back if the full service doesn't resume. I would look at either Holiday Inn or Wyndham Garden for starters, they're typically the lower priced ones. Just make sure it's Holiday Inn Disney Springs, there is another one around the corner in Lake Buena Vista that isn't a partner. Going beyond Disney Springs, there are plenty of hotels with shuttles but most only run a couple of them morning and evening as standard, some have been suspended due to Covid. So they're not the most convenient unless those set shuttle times happen to work for you. But you can Uber. I would look at the hotels on Palm Pkwy. A handful of cheap restaurants within walking distance (Olive Garden, Denny's, etc) and not far from the parks. There's a few big hotel chains there, e.g. Sheraton, Marriott, and also the Rosen Inn which is usually very affordable. On my dates, it was £50/night. Then there's plenty of options further out in LBV and Kissimmee but I'm not as familiar with those so will leave others to recommend. With all of these hotels though, make sure to check if there's a resort fee on top of the room rate and factor that into your budget. Some of them can be quite pricey. Most relevant for the partner hotels, but becoming popular at a lot of resorts. Edited at 06:30 PM. |

Thank you both for your recommendations.
I’ll check them all out. Being close to Disney Springs sounds like a good idea You’ve most helpful in starting off my search |

We have stayed at the Rosen (formerly Comfort/Clarion) and it is a great place to stay. It had excellent shuttles to the parks, shuttles to the shopping malls and the Lynx 50 stopped outside. Loads of places to eat within walking distance, even with the Crossroads being closed. You may need to check the shuttle situation now after covid. We ubered a few times and that wasn't expensive either.

I would look at international drive, lots of hotel within that budget, the i trolley runs the whole way, plus most of the hotels will offer transportation to Disney, universal can be reached using trolley, far too many restaurants to pick from, but I feel it’s a great base for easy access to all that Orlando has to offer, we usually get a Uber from I drive to Disney ticket and transportation centre for usually around $10 (May of gone up a bit as haven’t been since 2017
