We booked premium seating but had to abandon it on the day because there was a thunderstorm. We went back a week later and got to the car park for the shuttle at 9.20am for the shuttle. When we got to the park we asked if we cpuld buy prenium seating but it was all sold out. We had to wait until 10am for the official opening and run for beds but it really wasn't necessary, we easily got three beds with an umbrella in front of the volcano. I was looking and thinking how I don't think I would be enjoying the experience much more in premium seating. The advantage is that you get a lock box fitted into the loungers which is nice but whoever locks it with their tapu tapu has to unlock it so if you wanted to go back and have a rest whilst the person who locked it stayed in the water you wouldn't be able to unlock it. I think there is a sevice where you can order food and drinks and bring it to you but we probably spent the total of 1.5 hours at our loungers in a 7 hour day. We were there at Easter so quote busy too. My advice would be to study maps and plan where you would like to sit then get there for opening and you should be fine. The cabanas did look pretty good though!
