Really struggling today.

4 weeks ago we lost one of our cats, Hugo. He was only 2 and wasn’t poorly or anything. I’ve always had cats and been through the loss, but this is just awful.

Next challenge...I’m now changing the antidepressants I’ve been on for a few years to another type and the withdrawal symptoms are horrendous. After a month of tapering, my new ones start tomorrow, but this has just added to all the emotions I’m struggling with ☹️ I’m also on HRT and seeing a menopause specialist for severe symptoms for that.

We were due to land in Orlando yesterday for our 2nd planned holiday of the year. 😢 both been cancelled and we’ve not had a hol or a break away.

I turned 50 a month ago and I’m totally not dealing with it. Don’t know why, but all the planned nice stuff was cancelled, I’m overweight, hate my hair even though I keep going to hairdressers to change it, my skin is rubbish but I have probably £1k worth of skincare in the bathroom cabinet that I can’t be bothered to use!

And then covid. I’m on the sceptic side of the fence and I’m finding it really hard to deal with what is happening all around us when the actual numbers, that aren’t hard to find or analyse, don’t justify (in my opinion) the measures. I burst into tears this morning seeing a picture on social media of mickey hugging Walt Disney amid the CM losses! And again when Ariel posted that she’d lost her job.

I have so many things to be thankful for and I’m extremely lucky for many reasons, but I just feel I’m in a very deep pit that has no light at the top or a way to drag myself out of it.

For an attempt at an upbeat finish... we brought home 2 girl kittens two weeks ago from the same breeder as Hugo and from the same lines. We had planned to take 1 from the litter before we lost Hugo but then couldn’t just leave 1 behind as they are inseparable. Their names are Chloe (Secret life of pets), she is quiet but stealthy and Olivia (Scandal lol) who is definitely going to be the boss of everyone haha They are beautiful and keeping us very busy 😊. We now have 4 all under 3 🤣 all are BSH.

I think now is a good time to find a pic of Hugo

And introduce the girls, first up Olivia

Big hugs to you, you certainly don’t sound woe is me. You’re coping as well as you can with a lot of stresses at the moment 💕

I’m so sorry to hear about Hugo, our pets are our family too and we all grieve when we lose them. It must have been such a shock as he was so young too 😢 I’m sure your new fur babies will help you and comfort you. They are adorable

I should have been flying to Mexico next week and have numerous cancellations this year too. Each one seems more and more depressing 😔

The weight and looks are another thing I think we are all suffering with feeling depressed about this year too, especially us ladies of a certain age 😂 . I know I feel better after a holiday with a tan to give me a glow and I’m feeling decidedly drab this year

But hang in there, things have to get better and we will have our holidays again and meanwhile, we are all here to chat and share our worries and support each other xx

Hugo was beautiful bless him, am so sorry. I totally hear you on the menopause/ weight /hair front, I have had similar issues and its not nice at all. Your new kittens are so sweet, hopefully they will bring lots of new life and love to your household x

Sorry you are having such a tough day. I find it comes in waves here and it is the days I can't see an end to it that are the hardest. Sometimes giving yourself permission to have a bad day helps me. So today will be a touch day but make some plans for tomorrow to try and make it a slightly better one?

We are all here for you though, whatever you need

It definitely does get too much sometimes, if we just keep swimming eventually we will find a way out of this. Things will get better, but definitely allow yourself to have those down days and to have a cry, it does help. 💜
