My parents used Budget last year, we used Alamo.
Returned our cars to Sanford Airport, we handed over our car and checked in, my parents were STILL in the queue. They were the last people to check-in on our flight. We were not impressed and would not recommend them for Sanford Airport. |

Budget at MCO are in my mind as good as any other hire company. Budget are the economy hire side of Avis, and utilise the same stock as far as I am aware.
I have found Budget to be cost effective, sometimes substantial, however my biggest bugbear is they do not have a "skip the counter" service, which has resulted in me being in long queues in MCO. The staff I have had have been courteous and pleasant and fortunately have not tried to sell upgrades, insurance, etc. I usually take full tank for convenience. It is recommended to always check electronic document for no additional charges prior to signing and check the paper copy before walking away. Note, like Avis, Spouse is covered to drive at no charge. A lot of "free car" included with holiday do not give you full collision damage waiver, etc. We have found in the past it is sometimes more cost effective to forget the free car and book car via UK hire company (for full insurance cover), rather than pay the insurance upgrade costs.

We used them in 2016, we booked a seven seater when we arrived and had stood in the queque for almost 2 hours with 5 kids they announced they didn't have any a further hour passed and we had to pay another £200 to upgrade to a Lincoln Navigator that we didn't want. On return they charged my credit card £135 for a quarter rack on fuel never again will I use budget
