Mobile Universal worth the £600 for 1 day?

We are staying at disney and have our park passes, trip to miami and shopping malls planned. Thought about universal as our boys will be 1,4 and 6. Husband thinks its alot of money to just have a look about and see some marvel characters. Is it worth us paying £600 for the universal tickets or going next time? (First florida holiday but plan on returning every 2 year)

I wouldn't pay £600 for a day there's more ham enough to see in Disney to fill 14 days.

Save it for next time

There's so much to do for children at that age, that involve more more than just looking and marvel characters.

If you're planning just a day and with a trip to Miami etc and are planning to return, I wouldn't overdo it with another park just for the sake of it.

You can always go next time.

Could I ask why Miami? I also thought it sounded fab but from what people say in here it's a good 4 hour drive and it's just a city really, bit much for kids.unless you're going for a specific reason? Xx

Universal is fab! We had the 14 day tickeyd and went 3 days. Miami was ok but I would not go again, just a beach and a town x

If you're ending the trip in Miami and flying from there, or starting there, it might be a bit easier. But I agree with the others.

We are thinking of staying in miami for 1 night half way through the holiday. Hubby said hes always wanted to see the everglades and go on the boat down the river its his bucket list type of thing so we were going to stay the night just to break the drive up. We are staying at disney so disney pass is included so would have to purchase the universal one seperate. X

I would say go next time and stay one night in a universal hotel . It's a lot to pay for one day and if you know you are going back , it's something nice to plan for.

Eeesh , my hubby is the same on wanting to see Miami and it's causing me a real planning headache with the holiday. I'm not getting it myself ... He's been there before and none of the rest of us really want to go !

Wouldn't your hub enjoy one of the Orlando airboat rides this time and maybe next trip you could start or finish in Miami to make it easier ?

Have a fab time whatever you do. First trips are so exciting x

Just thinking if we fly to miami next time we still got to do the car journey to disney world so might aswel get this everglade bucket list thing over and done with then wont have to go back next time haha. Trying to convince him to just do gatorland or something but hes having none of it 😂next time think we split it up and do disney then few days at universal maybe. Its exciting but very stressful planning. With the cost i just want it to be perfect and to do everything i can to make it the best holiday ever Xx

I agree with the others both with regard to Miami and Universal.

Personally, I wouldn't do a round trip to Miami with young children a) because they will be thoroughly bored on the journey and b) there's nothing there to interest them. I've been twice and really don't like the place and if its a beach you are after, Clearwater is far nicer and just a day trip from Orlando.

Show this thread to your DH so he can see our advice for himself and maybe do an airboat ride locally if he wants to see a swamp. Then next time you are planning a Florida holiday, book flights either into or departing from Miami and see it then on a one night stopover, giving you just a one way drive.

As far as Universal is concerned, if you know you will return then leave it this time as you will find more than enough to fill two weeks anyway. Our first ever trip was Disney and Seaworld only when our DD's were young, Universal came when they were a bit older and we felt we had 'done' Disney.
