Clearwater Hotel Recommendation

Hi, We are heading out April 2017. We want to spend a couple of days in Clearwater.
Looking for a hotel near the beach, any suggestions?

We found Clearwater too expensive for when we wanted to stay ... so no recommendation for Clearwater...

... however we stayed at the Doubletree at Redington beach a few miles down the road... and it was right on the beach! High room best for the view!

I have always liked Clearwater in the past ... but it's got too busy and too expensive for our liking these days.

We stayed at the Hilton in Clearwater, great beach front location right next door to pier 60.

can't beat the Hilton for location. it can be a bit noisy (we were in facing the road so noise from the bars etc) but didn't bother us that much.

hilton is a good all rounder tbh! stopped there twice. If you can afford the extra funds id stop at the sandpearl. Right next to the hilton but its alot nicer! We went to the spa and a massage and the hotel itself looks like its defo worth the extra! Wish i spent the extra for it.

Thanks for the replies. I have found they are either really cheap or really expensive. May also have a look at St Petes.

Dolphin Beach Resort hotel St Petes Beach, beautiful beach and the hotel, is fine. Beach front rooms at 4 steps down to the beach!

Opal Sands in Clearwater looks very nice; however we were taken aback at the amount of construction going on at Clearwater beach when we drove through yesterday, building sites anywhere there is a spare plot of land, getting very built up.
